Spray Shelter ~ Miracles Do Happen

Every once in a while there will be an invention that comes about that makes us say, “How did I ever do without this?”. To me, tools are worth their weight in gold for they allow us to do all sorts of wonderful things. My latest addition to my arsenal is going to save my marriage (you know what I’m talkin’ about) and my sanity. Here is what my life was like without my new spray shelter.

Spray Paint Mess without Spray Shelter | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

*post is sponsored by HomeRight  (see full disclosure)

I would try to use boxes, sheets, any old thing to try to protect my work area, my yard, etc. Nothing really worked, or if it did was a pain to set up and take down.

DIY TIME

Enter in my new toy…the Homeright Small Spray Shelter. Woot!

HomeRight Small Spray Shelter Demonstration by Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

You know I love my HomeRight Finish Max sprayer as seen in all these posts where I use it, and also my large Spray Shelter. However, sometimes I don’t need to set up that for a small object. This smaller spray tent is perfectly suited for your average DIYer.

Not only is it easy to set up (as in it takes seconds to pop), but it is big enough for somewhat larger objects and lets in plenty of light to make the job easy. This, my friends, is what it’s all about. Also, I’m not just sweet talkin’, but I’m serious. Who couldn’t use one of these?

Introducing the New HomeRight Spray Shelter for Small Projects | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

I went from accidentally spraying something because of a clog in the can or thinking I had everything covered, to stress-free painting.

FUN

What’s even better is how fast clean up is. Just fold sides together…

Folding HomeRight Small Spray Shelter | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

Do a little flip and it pops into itself (kinda like your car visor or a kids pop-up tent.) It even comes with a carrying bag for storage and mobility.

Not only do I get paint on in record time, but I also love how everything turns out in this vignette.

Also, that china set has been in my basement in a box for far too long, so I used it to display this plate rack and pedestal stand that are now available in my shop.

I have a pile of wood pieces that need to be painted for me to finish decorating! I would love to win this!

      • Ruth Collins says

        Larissa

My husband has a long DIY list of things to spray for me, but taking the time to set up something outside and then spray it and hope for no bugs to land has dampened enthusiasm. This would be just the ticket and the first thing (things) done would be some bases for my new artwork to stand on.

        Keeping my fingers crossed

      • Liz Bryan says

I really NEED this tent spray paint booth! My son and I are trying to open a very small Etsy store with Bible verse wooden plaques. I need this tent to spray the wood! Please pick me to win!

    • Kimber says

I have a very old silverware box that has beautiful curved edges that would great in this paint shelter. Thank you for continuing to inspire us with your wonderful ideas!

  2. Donna Fullerton says

What an amazing idea! I have a small curio that I want to spray, but it is always such a challenge. Thank you for the information concerning this product.

  3. Janie Hayes says

    Larissa,
I could definitely use the small HomeRight spray shelter! I would use it to spray five small drawers that go with a small Lowboy I am redoing for my foyer.

  4. Sally says

Hi Larissa, just wanted to let you know how much I love your blog. I just recently found it and have went back in the archives to read all of your great posts. You are a very talented lady.you have given me the inspiration to paint and use things I have had for a long time in new ways and in different rooms. My husband asks where did you buy that and I say, we had it but look how much better it looks now ! he is happy because he never wants to get rid of anything ,and now he doesn’t have too. now we do projects together,he cuts and hammers things and I paint. I would love to have a HomeRight spray shelter to use as I just unearthed a box of items in our basement from the 80’s, wood candle sticks, wall plaques, a breadbox and a cute letter holder for mail. I told you we never get rid of anything! I think I would use all of these things if I just cleaned them up and painted them, the HomeRight spray shelter would be great for those kind of items I think. P.S. my husband loves to show people what we have transformed , he loves doing it as much as I do now that he is retired.

    • Larissa says

That is a wonderful testament to the “make do or do without” mentality! So many people don’t realize the potential around them. Thank you for sharing, Sally, and for the encouragement.

  5. Shannon Bruck says

    Hi Larissa,

I could use this wonderful invention on soooooo many things! I, too, tend to make an oooopsy when spraying furniture and hit things that I didn’t mean to spray :0(. The first thing I would use the shelter on would be a little charging station that I plan to give a make over. It has so many nooks and crannies that spraying will be much easier than using a brush!

    Have a great day!
    Shannon

    • Larissa says

I even did demonstrating how frustrating it is…grrr… Ah well. No more mess, right?! 😀

  6. Kelly says

This spray shelter is awesome! I would use it to spray some baskets, candle holders, and picture frames!

  7. Sue Pagels says

Gosh, I paint so MANY things….I guess it would be candlesticks for a Halloween project I am working on – spray paint is certainly my friend! Thank you for doing this!

  8. Jamie K says

Oh dear- my list is wide and long! Just to name a few – I have brass candlesticks that need to be painted, I have an old lamp I want to paint and I have some wood boards to make signs that certainly need a good spraying. This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long while. I’m always seeing something that could use a new look….Love it! thanks for the chance to win!

  9. Mia Aceto says

What would I use my new spray shelter for? Better question would be, “What WOULDN’T I use my spray shelter for? ” Would really help me from spraying the car (don’t tell my husband) again! I might even curl up in it like a sleeping baby at the beach.

    • Larissa says

Amen! 😀 It seriously can be tricky to not make a mess and this thing ROCKS.

  10. Jewell Styles says

I am a 74 year old DIYer. Everything in my house that is paintable — is painted. I would use it to spray a collection of bottles for display.

  11. Holly Legare says

What! That is a perfect size for picture frames, vases, candlesticks and pedestals – but first I woul paint a cute little table/plant stand that is just screaming for a makeover.
    Thanks for inspiration Larissa

    • Larissa says

Woot! That’s what it’s all about, Holly. This tent makes it so much easier.

  12. Jessica says

The first thing I would spray is a wood pillar candles holder. I have a tiny work space so I really appreciate how small that folds down!

    • Larissa says

You ain’t kiddin’. Space comes at a premium in my house, so this is going to be well-used.

  13. Veronica says

Oh my gosh! I could really use one of these. There are so many things I could use this for. Spray painting dishes, picture frames, candlesticks, mirrors, hardware, lanterns, to just name a few. Thank you for sharing this great time saving product.

  14. Yvonne says

I have two trays that I have to paint for Christmas related projects (one wood, one metal), so this would be perfect! I have the large shelter, but as you said, I don’t always want to drag it out for the smaller projects (and then I end up with overspray on my daughter’s backyard lawn – ouch). I hope I win!

    • Larissa says

I totally get it, Yvonne. This is much simpler and fast to use. Here’s hoping!

  15. kim says

I would use it for everything. I also use sheets, cardboard and anything eles I can find. My space is pretty small so this would be perfect. I had to laugh when I read your post regarding the part about explaining to your husband where that paint spot came from, I hear that line often. lol Its a good thing he is a good sport.
Thank you for the opportunity to try this out.

    • Larissa says

hahaha…yes. I use rubbing alcohol to removed the dust, but now I won’t need to anymore. YAY!

  16. Wendy Olgine says

I love how convenient the shelter is to set up and put away. Often, I get too excited to begin spraying and it is only later that I regret my haste when I discover my overspray on another project! I will miss your blogs in early September but am so glad you are taking that first week off to focus on homeschool. Treasure the time-no matter how chaotic or “not the way you dreamed it”- it comes to an end and that is bittersweet. I have a bunch of bowls and candlesticks that I have been saving to create some vignette displays – that tent would be perfect for those projects.

    • Larissa says

Overspray is evil. 😉 Thank you for getting why I do what I do. I need to refocus on the new year and do some maintenance on my brain. ha!

  17. Challin says

I have a light fixture I’ve been hanging onto that is so outdated but couldn’t bare to part with because I know there is greatness just dying to come out of it! That would be the very first thing among the many projects I can see myself using this for!

    • Larissa says

This is perfect for that sort of project! You can do it. 🙂

  18. Molly says

I have a bathroom cabinet that I picked up at a garage sale that needs a new coat of paint!

  19. Sandra Skeem says

This spray shelter looks amazing! I think I have everything I need for a gallery wall I’m putting together, but there’s a few items I need to paint. The shelter would make it so much easier. Great giveaway! Thanks.

  20. Jayme C says

Oh wow! How did I not know this existed? I’m always piling boxes or scrap lumber around to build myself a little painting shelter – such a pain! What would I paint first? Oh my…so many projects on my list. Probably my stash of frames.

    • Larissa says

You and me both, Jayme. NO MORE! Time for some sanity saving. 😀

  21. Karen Schultz says

I would spray paint some of my old silver serving platters! I tape off the beautiful filigree edges and handles then spray paint. The engraving shows thru and I do decorative painting over that! This shelter would be perfect!!

  22. Kristy Rayment says

I’m working on refinishing a latern right now. This would be perfect!

  23. Michelle says

I have some old decanters i have been wanting to try spraying. This would be great!!

  24. Sandi Jones says

This shelter is just what I need! I have some lamp bases that need some refreshing! I love my Homeright Finish Max sprayer and this would be a great addition!

  25. Kristi S says

Love the compactress of this spray tent. I have some picture frames that I need to paint. Thank you.

    • Larissa says

It makes it so easy to store and use. I wish I had one to give to everyone!

  26. Andra Villegas says

I am starting Christmas gifts soon! Indeed to start painting the pieces!

  27. ruby says

Could have used it last nite when I was dragging in a piece at 8:30 , after dark!! that I had spray painted in the driveway. I have a small mountain by my garage door that makes me feel guilty every day, just waiting for the weather to be right, and the rain to stop, sigh… BUT if they had their own “changing room”….. they could be done in the garage…..and just think of all the pumpkins and gourds coming up!

    • Larissa says

Exactly, Ruby. I’m always waiting for outdoor weather too, but no more!

  28. Judy black says

I could get rid of all that old cardboard I use to spray !! I’d paint old dryer vent I’m making into pumpkins.

  29. Brooke Unversaw says

This spray shelter could possibly save my marriage and my sanity!!!!! my husband gets so mad when I get paint on the driveway!!! Oops!!!! I guess I’m not the neatest when I get in a creative zone!!! This would be amazing!!! Lovvvve all your creations!!!

  30. Jenni Rach says

I have a tiny nightstand I picked up curbside that needs painting. It’s been in my garage for two weeks and I’ve been procrastinating!

  31. Brooke Unversaw says

Oops got so caught up in saving my marriage I forgot to say what I would paint first!!!! Ahhhh that’s an easy one.. This adorable iron patio set that I’ve had for months!!! It definitely needs a fresh coat!!!!

  32. Frances Mastermn says

The possibilities are endless, but with the holidays coming before we know it, I make lots of my own decorations and use a lot of spray paint. The shelter would definitely help keep the mess to a minimum!

  33. Christina Kintyhtt says

Would love this shelter ! Getting ready to start putting out fall decorations on my front porch have this old icecream bucket that repurposed for my mums need to repay clear coat to that and couple more items this work wonderfully for that project . Thank You Have a wonderful day !

  34. Karen Torres says

This would be great! No more accidental spray marks on my garage countertop. I have a long list of things to paint but next up is a mirror for my bathroom. Thanks for the information. I had no idea this existed.

    • Larissa says

Ditto. Drives me crazy because we just built it and I don’t want it to get dirty. hahaha…

  35. Barbara says

I would repaint a small wicker side table that i got from my MIL. This would be a great tool to have!

  36. @DelightsOfTheHeart says

Hi Larissa! Wow what an amazing gadget and giveawsy! The very first thing I would paint is my dinning room set!

Second on the list is my coffee table, and third would be the bench in my entryway! Oh yes, and two very large shuttles I keep putting off because I dread using a paont brush!

Have a blessed day my friend! Thanks for the giveaway!

    Yolanda

    • Larissa says

Thanks, Yolanda! I am so stoked about this thing and am happy to share.

  37. Alison S says

I have a chandelier that I have been wanting to paint!

  38. Carrie says

I have a folding children’s chair plus numerous other projects. I have an overspray outline on my ping pong table. I thought I had enough of the space covered with newspaper. Oops!

    • Larissa says

gah! I hate when that happens! With this shelter, no more mess.

  39. Debbie says

I have a couple of trays that need painted, so they would be first in line!! It would be awesome to have this spray shelter! I love seeing your work and the transformations of furniture that you do!

  40. wendy says

I would love and be so excited to win this spray shelter. What a fantastic product! I have many wood pieces waiting in the wings to be painted!!

  41. Carol Edwards says

Nice !!! Maybe I wouldn’t accidentally spray the lawn tractor on my next project !

  42. Beth says

Just started following your blog and like it a lot. Have not tried to paint anything yet, but with this spray shelter, I think I would be brave enough to try! Would like to paint my dining room table/ chairs. What do you think? Can I do it?

    • Larissa says

You bet you can! Just practice on something smaller and work up from there. 😉

  43. Jeanine clark says

In the beginning of summer, I bought a can of gold Rustoleum spray paint to renew a boring old white oscillating fan. I’ve been a little overwhelmed thinking of it, not knowing if I could get the paint on evenly without unintentionally painting everything else around the project site. This pop up paint shelter would be absolutely perfect for this project.
Thank you for the chance to win. 🙂

    • Larissa says

That is the perfect candidate for your project, Jeanine. yay!

  44. Lori says

This sure would come in handy for my husband’s honey do list! ?

  45. Sarah says

Oh my goodness, the things I could paint (besides the grass, driveway, floor) using this pop up wonder! My house has a bit of a jungle of plants going on, so I would probably start with the hodge podge of planters, baskets, and shelves I’ve thrifted to showcase them all.

  46. Cecilia says

Larissa, that looks like such a handy item to have! My husband would love for me to have something like that to protect the surrounding area from paint and I would love it for the ease of setup and protection! As for what would I paint? I have a cart – I have to take it apart to paint it and I’m pretty sure the pieces would fit! Thanks for the chance to win.
Btw, do you have the Rapid cleaner for your Spray Max?

    • Larissa says

He will LOVE it. Not only for you, but I bet he would whip it out too. Yes, the Rapid Cleaner is a must for me.

  47. Alice young says

I have several small projects that need painting, an old bread box, picnic basket, a small table top storage shelf… this would be a big help in getting these items done.

  48. Kenda Collins says

Two years ago I painted a little bookcase for my daughter and I’m STILL finding lavender overspray mist in the nooks and crannies of my small shop. This would be perfect for painting some hardware on a cabinet I’m working on. Love your blog, Larissa. You always amaze me with what you’re able to accomplish when you have so much on your plate.

    • Larissa says

Thank you, Kenda. I’m with you on that nasty overspray…not cool!

  49. Kelly Young says

Where to begin on UFO’s (un finished objects) that I have in our storage barn in need of a little touch of painty magic…..but if I HAD to choose just one, I guess it would be our kitchen cabinet doors. We recently moved into a farmhouse built in 1888 and it is in need of A LOT of TLC!

  50. Kathy McBride says

This would be awesome for all those things I try to hold & end up getting more paint on my hands than the project!

  51. TW says

I would start with some old picture frames and then move on to my newly thrifted two drawer cabinet.

  52. Sandi Allen says

OH my! How awesome is this? I could certainly use a home right spray shelter.
I have a whole basement full of items that could be sprayed. Picture frames, small stools,
Lamps, odds and ends wood pieces. Thrift store finds, the list goes on.
My lawn wouldn’t be covered in spay paint anymore.
Thank You for the chance to win!

    Sandi

  53. Brenda says

I’m renting my condo…the homeowners would love for me to win this! Lol

  54. Sally M says

I love the shelter! I have even tried spray painting outside to avoid the “oops I did not mean to get paint on that”. But it seems like a leaf or pine needle always finds its way to the middle of my project. Right now I have a pile of picture frames that I want to paint.

  55. Kaycee says

Larissa, thank you for the opportunity to win this paint shelter, and for the awareness of its existence! I would use this shelter to work on something from my “pile of dreams” like my childhood doll cradle!!!

  56. Lee Ann says

That is fantastic! I have some 80s-style country pieces that are dying for a makeover, and I’ve been wondering where I am going to paint them! Bye bye apples and geese!

  57. Yolanda M says

I, too, need one of these! Like you I’ve used boxes and sheets to try and contain the over spray. Inevitably there is usually some residue left somewhere.

Thank you for all your creative ideas!

  58. Mikaela says

Hello Larissa! I actually haven’t done any furniture flipping yet BUT I have been looking forward to starting with my kids 1950’s Haywood Wakefield school chairs I picked up for $1.00 a piece! The metal frame would fit perfectly in this small tent! And since we live in a apartment complex with a small yard this is absolutely perfect for projects! Love your pieces, god bless

  59. Cheryl says

I’m a repurpose, refurbish, repainting kinda gal. Been using tarps to make a paint booth.. like to win a spray shelter. Love your repainted pieces. BEAUTIFUL!

  60. Susan says

I have some shutters that need to be sprayed painted, this would be a great win for me!

  61. Deb Wostmann says

I have a small table that I have been putting off painting. This would save my sanity and that of my husband’s since I’m usually spraying in his space!

  62. Catherine Cooper says

    Hi Larissa:
This shield would make life easier as I spray paint a small dresser, a 5-drawer cabinet, and a bookcase. Gotta get ’em all done before Fall sets in because there’s tons of stuff to do in the garden and yard–as you well know.

Your art and hard work are inspiring, Larissa. I look forward to each post!

Wishing you much inspiration and blessings galore as you start your school year!

  63. Tracie Mohr says

Oh my, my pieces that I would use this on is very long.
I have never seen anything like this before. It is so cool.
I got overspray on our computer once when I spray painted indoors….. No more spray painting in the house!
Thank you for all you share on your blog…. I’m now
Beginning to try repurposing . You are so inspiring…. And talented!

  64. Judy Lincicum says

What???!!! This paint shelter and a can of spray paint and I’ve been liberated! Now I’m motivated to do curio shelves, candle sticks, picture frames, etc that I have been putting off, in half the time. The Lord is good! Thanks, Larissa, for this post. Even if I don’t win, I will buy this little tool. It’s an answer to alot of small problems, for sure.

  65. Linda Monroe says

I have a wooden mirror/hook shelf that is black. My daughter wants it for her new college apartment, but wants it to be white. This would be perfect!

  66. Thelma L Hamilton says

I need this!!! I would paint trunks and boxes that I paint wedding dresses on for my business. In the season I paint personalized family ornaments. In the Spring and Summer I paint wedding trunks and boxes with the Bride’s dress on the top. I could use this to paint the boxes with no muss or fuss. Thank you for considering me!!!

  67. Julie Price says

This is perfect for my country life! It’s so windy out here and this would help me tremendously with my spray painting jobs. No more trying to run around my projects lol.

  68. Vanessa Prohaska says

I’m pretty sure that the reason my husband can’t sleep well is because he’s worried about the amount of furniture I gather and how I have speckled our red brick, the garage floor and his tool she’d with spray paint. Winning a shelter would probably give the man some sanity…but it won’t stop me from painting stuff. Lol.
Love your blog. Have a great day.

  69. Karen Baumgardner says

What an awesome project “helper” this would be! Like most of the others, my list of items to spray paint is long, but I’ve been wanting to do some candlesticks for a friend for Christmas ~ never too soon to start because it seems like it’s here before we can blink once autumn arrives. Thanks for all the great posts, Larissa, I always enjoy them and look forward to opening my email to see what you’ve tackled!

  70. Arlie Boutwell says

I have a box of picture frames that I am going to use for a gallery wall, it would be so nice not to have to pick grass off of them after they are painted ( I paint in the grass).

  71. Cathy Bender says

Picture frames! I have al types and sizes and am finally getting ready to do a wall gallery with pics of my 5 kids, 7 grands and Phil and I. All the pics have been chosen now I just need to paint those frames I’ve been collecting! And Phil just got me my first sprayer! Yay! Thanks for the opportunity to win this fabulous pop up spray tent!!

  72. Judy says

Hi! I have a HomeRight Max Sprayer. I always have to spread tarps and cardboard so that I don’t make a mess. This would be perfect for painting several cute little stools that I’ve picked up.

  73. Leena says

I have tons of frames that I bought from a car boot sale just before I moved to the USA 3 weeks ago. I am waiting (kinda patiently) for my shipment to arrive so I can get painting and make them into trays and to display pictures of all my family and friends that I miss lots. I would love the chance to win this tent so I can get spraying without making a mess! Thank you and love your blog!!

  74. Renee Pedersen says

Oh my gosh Larissa, I had no idea they even made such things! Where have you been all my life!! You don’t know how much trouble I have gotten in for spray painting my patio table or the grass in our lawn! I could use one of these for anything that I spray paint which is everything! I have found that rather than buy new, a new color, a couple knobs or some new flowers pretty much updates anything into this century! Right now, I have some vases that I would like painted to update the décor in my built in shelves in my living room but that is far from the endless possibilities this thing would open up in my “redoing” world!!!!!!

  75. Chris says

What can’t I use it for?! :-). Small lamps, picture frames…..endless list! What a cool thing!

  76. Janice Humphrey says

Oh wow, gotta have this!! It would definitely get me excited about doing some projects I have been dreading to do. This would make it so easy. I would do picture frames that I’ve been collecting from garage sales to start the Wall of Frame!! I also have an old three slot mail organizer that I’ve been putting off doing. Pumpkins for the fall. The list goes on!! I love your posts and look forward everyday to see what new item you have transformed. ?

  77. Mary says

Love to win a shelter, then I could paint what I’m supposed to and not paint what is not supposed to be painted. hahahaMary

  78. Theresa Overcast says

Larissa, I would use the spray shelter for my new project of spraying metal hanging baskets. I then wire two together and place lights inside for an awesome outside hanging light! I gave one to my brother for his birthday, now three more family members want one!!!
Also, I have just recently discovered your blog and absolutely love it!!

  79. Nanette says

Ooooo, I have the cutest small cabinet that would fit in there perfectly – and desperately needs to be painted white! Thanks Larissa!

  80. Carla Green says

Oh boy this would be a great help! I have a few frames that I have been wanting to spray paint to use in my girls’ rooms. This would be perfect!

  81. Joy C. says

I have three wooden candlesticks that I’m planning on refinishing. This would be perfect to make for easier cleanup!

  82. Sandra says

The question is “what would I not use it for?” Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of painting of little items and I’ve tried to set up a make shift area in my yard. I’ve covered the grass with plexiglass for my projects and I’m killing my grass…not good! I have a plate rack just like yours in my garage that is in need of paint, picture frames as well. Btw, you do an amazing job with your projects. I’ve learned so much from you..thank you!

  83. Becky Moyer says

The question is, what wouldn’t I use it for? I haunt garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets and try to find those things that scream “Paint me and make me pretty!” Right now, I would paint a shelf that I snagged at a garage sale for $5. BTW, best wishes for an awesome year of homeschooling. I homeschooled my three boys…and then they grew up. Enjoy every minute of it. The days are long but the years are short…

    • Larissa says

Kudos to you, Becky. It is a blessing beyond all understanding to have the privilege.

  84. Sabrina via OurBrickFrontSteps says

I’ve got 1 thing left until Kid 3 big girl room is complete – a shelf to paint. I can’t do it until my husband leaves for his work trip. A spray tent would save me having to hide my covert painting times. #k3bgr

  85. Nancy says

?I have a small one drawer nite stand with an open area at the bottom that I started to paint with a brush but stopped because I hated the color I had picked and visible brush strokes! Spraying would be soooo much better! You do inspire me…thanks for all the tips and for this opportunity to win. PLUS…I’m ordering that sprayer too! ? PS I have so many pieces, from my father in law’s estate, that I have dreams of making into works of art!

  90. Fran says

I’m really getting into the more neutral look and would love to spray paint what I already have to achieve that look rather than buying new. Wow…this is more than a convenience! It’s a “must have”!!! First off for me would be some detailed drawers from my grandmother’s old Singer sewing machine. I can see it now!! Thanks for the opportunity!

  92. Michelle Gilbert says

Awesome!!! I would use this for a planter I have been wanting to paint for succulents. Love all your ideas?

  94. Kelly McGrew says

I would love to paint some knock knacks I got from this summers flea market trips.

Thanks for the chance and BEAUTIFUL job on the teacup/dish display. It is the perfect statement piece and I may have to do something similar in my home; it inspired me!

  98. julie says

I’m constantly spray painting on my porch, lol I’ve given up trying to hide it, so one spot is multi coloured haha. Since I own a booth I’m constantly building small projects etc this would be great to keep my workspace protected from grass and dust and protect the rest of my porch from becoming painted lol

  99. Tamra says

I would love one of these spray shelters! It gets so cold in the winter where I live and it would be nice to be able to still paint projects during that time of year…being able to do it in my garage, and not have to put a project off until the weather warms up!

Thanks for sharing & the chance to win… this is awesome!!!

  111. Joyce says

In this house I have painted bathroom cabinets but bath is far far from finished. Have small cabinets and shelves that need to be painted. I have old world French theme but spraying these small cabinet and shelves is a must. I go outside and use a tarp but it goes everywhere. Husband would so appreciate me winning this to avoid over spraying and waste. It was so breezy last week I also need to respray my outdoor side tables that are looking rough. Thank you.

We moved to a new city recently and we are in an apartment (with no garage to have a work space or do some painting). I’ve had to put projects on hold since I can’t figure out how to paint stuff. Once I saw this little I had that “yes that’s it!” Moment. This would be perfect to paint those few things I’ve been wanting to add pops of color too!

  119. Lauren says

    Hi Larissa ,
The first things I will be painting if I win this is probably either wood pieces to make vintage signs or spray painting vases/candle holders etc. I am acting as wedding planner for one of my best friends and I am creating her cute signs to display at the wedding in the reception area, the cocktail area which is outside by a fireplace and the signs for the photo booth, welcome signs etc. We are also spray painting a variety of old glass vases and containers into different shades of gold and rose gold since her flowers will be mostly white and green, these will be the pops of color and sparkle !:) I’ve been spray painting in my garage on a flimsy cardboard box and have paint streaks on my garage walls and floor, this rosy the would be so helpful especially since most of the items I’ll be painting in the near future are small items for this wedding. Fingers crossed !

  120. Michelle says

I have about 30 picture frames from my old house that I want to paint to match my new house.

  121. Camille says

My Little girls picture frames! I would love this!

  122. Kathy Nielsen says

A spray Shelter, WOW! Currently I am using an old wobbly cardboard box (water heater came in) and a tarp on the floor of my garage. I have to move car out so as not to paint it. Since I do quite a bit of painting this would be ever so wonderful.

  123. Sue Roush says

???? This product. I am a spray paint fanatic!! I can’t get enough of adding color to boring, plain Jane furniture , crafts and anything else that isn’t nailed down!! I am sure my end result will be much better with the use of the Homeright Spray Shelter! BTW great blog!

  124. Kim says

I could clear coat my mason jars I paint by hand without coating anything nearby.

  125. Dana Rounds says

Well, I just made a huge mess this weekend spray painting mason jars for a Girl Scout project. Trying to look at the silver specks all over my garage/ laundry area as a glittery enhancement. Half full, right? I have frames and trays and signs I’d like to paint next. You make it look so easy and clean with that shelter.

  126. Lynn Blair says

What a fabulous product!! I spray paint everything!!! From my china hutch, to small knick knack accents, and everything in between!! I would use this next to paint a table for my 16 year old son who is just launching his first business, a converted 1967 travel trailer into a traveling photo booth….The Snappy Camper ? This would save me from turning my grass varied colors from overspray ?

  127. La Wanda says

Since I refurbish furniture I can use this for all of my smaller projects. I actually have a cabinet in my bathroom that I want to paint and this shelter would be perfect. I do all of my painting on my apartment patio and it’s difficult sometimes not to get paint on the floor. I’ve made shelters out of cardboard boxes, can you imagine that….not very practical not to mention very messy!!!! This shelter would solve all of my refinishing projects.

  128. Anabel says

Wow. I’m a dyi wannabe only cuz I’ve no place to work and spray without doing major damage. I heard about the big tent few days ago. But I feel I should start small and build up to doing big pieces! This small tent will tip me over into dyi action! I’m so excited! Thanks for sharing. Love the hutch and the dishes in it!

  129. Janie BV says

Thanks for posting about this smaller version of the Homeright spray tent. I would love to have one to paint these old banisters (that I acquired off someone’s curb of course). I want to transform them with paint and a small piece of wood at the top to make notepad holders or recipe card holders. I plan on giving them as gifts at a Christmas brunch we have every year at my church.

  130. Kristine Velez says

Hi Larissa! Wonderful product! Can’t wait to get my hands on one!
The first thing I would paint is a wood wall/corner shelf my grandfather made back in the 50’s. It is in desperate need of a face lift (cracking and chipped paint) and I have been putting it off because of the mess of painting it. It was my mother’s but when she passed I inherited it.
    Thank you!!!
    Kristine

  131. Laura Werley says

Larissa, this giveaway is amazing! I have lots of ‘little’s that I am hand painting now, frames, candle sticks, vintage doll bed – fun stuff that I pick up at the thrift store and upcycle into sellable goods. I have a very crowded garage and would love the spray tent to keep all my other treasures from becoming victims of the dreaded overspray. Oh, and I love your blog, thanks for so much inspiration.

  134. Lorna Peralta says

When my son stopped by on his way to the city dump I rifled through his truck bed and rescued two sorry looking Christmas reindeer. After pulling off the lights and wiring, i decided to spray paint the frames. I’ve done one, and made a royal mess in the workshop. I’m going to order one of these before I tackle the next frame.

  135. Valerie says

Where have I been that I didn’t know such things existed? LOL! Would love to win this one, but I just appreciate knowing my floor is now saved 🙂 Thank you for sharing! Working on a cabinet project that will be a breeze now!

  136. Velma says

This is the perfect size for those smaller project; which are mostly what I do! I usually cover my outside garbage can and spray from there. So that is dependent on the weather. My next one will be a 3 piece set of wooden candle holders.

  137. Robin says

I love to thrift and this would be perfect for spraying decorative items that need a little love or don’t match my color scheme. It’s the perfect size!

  138. Rachel L says

How many times have I done the shoulder scrunch “oh no!!” when I’m spray painting?! This would be awesome for my nightstand drawer fronts, my cabinet hardware, the doll chairs, I can’t list them all!

  139. Lea says

Too many vi rage finds to count, but probably this fun ornate mirror for my littlest love’s room. Thank you for this give-away! Blessings!

  142. Michelle Roberson says

Many thanks Larissa for sharing the love for the small Homeright spray tent! I have rescued useful pieces from the curb, salvage and thrift shop and they need a new look for Fall sale. Many of these items will be donated to our nearby Fort soldiers and sailors who are on a very tight budget.

I have so many projects I would love to try, but I’m just not brave enough to take the plunge. You inspire me with your many beautiful pieces. I would love to win this and start small! Can I just ask…do you use some type of top coat to keep these pieces from scrathing, chipping, etc.?

  150. Misty says

  151. Donna Marchlewski says

I have frames that need to be painted. 🙂

  152. Mary says

    Hi Larissa!

I have been reading your blog for over a year now. What inspiration I’ve gotten from your posts! This past spring I bought the Homeright large spray tent. I just love it and have used it on all sorts of furniture pieces. I don’t go to the bother of setting it up when I have a small job, such as a picture frame or cigar box. As I use an old packing box and risk over-spray,I have thought about how great a mini spray tent would be… Great minds, Larissa!! I would love this small spray tent to use on mini projects such as boxes, chandeliers, crafts, oh the list is endless☺️. I’m crossing my fingers that my name will be picked. Enjoy your first week back at school- I’m a teacher and although the summer was fast and fun, I’m looking forward to seeing the kids again and challenging myself as well.

  153. susan says

Thank you for the opportunity to enter this contest and thank you for sharing your talents with all of us!

  176. Karen says

That would solve so many problems! I don’t have a garage and I have to paint in the yard, sometimes it’s tough with wind etc. Plus over spray gets all over EVERYTHING!. Perfect!
Love the blog and your china looks so pretty in the painted shelf. Gotta tell you, the pedestal bowl the moss ball is in–my husband made one exactly like it in high school wood shop a zillion years ago (he’s 62) and it sits in my daughter’s dining room!

  191. Phyllisa says

The Homeright Small Spray Shelter looks like an awesome new tool! I have a collection of wood items standing by to be
worked on in the creation of my new decorative painting business The Artist’s Cottage. These wood pieces include 2 doll
or baby cradles, 2 step stools and a shelf with turnings, all handmade by a family member. I can see by your work that
spraying is a quick and easy way to base coat, making it easier for me to get to the decorative painting part.
Your inspiration has led me down this path and I’m looking forward to seeing this venture become successful. I will be
    continuing to follow your success.
    Phyllisa

  192. September Whisenant says

I love how easily you can transform something with a can of spray paint so we spray paint A LOT! I say we because I often get my husband to paint things for me. Growing up and in college he had jobs that required him to spray paint motors, panels and more so he is really good at it. If it’s small and simple tho, I’ll do it myself rather than wait on him. However, no matter who actually does the painting, I always do the setup. I usually try to find a box to spray in but don’t always have one the right size on hand and then I’m left trying rig up something so your first picture looked very familiar to me. I have the larger Spray Shelter but know this one would be even more useful for the kind of stuff we frequently do. I made a haul at Goodwill just today and I have plans to spray basically every item I bought, all of which would fit nicely in this shelter so thanks for the opportunity to win one!

  193. Ashley says

I have an old vanity light I would like to paint and give new life to – from chrome to flat black. Also some old wooden fish that we found and want to use as decor with bright, fun colors.

I can think of sooo many projects that I could use this for! But definitely the first one is my old rusty, pitted metal mailbox. then some hardware, door knobs, the list goes on and on… what a handy thing to have!

  195. Cheryl says

This would be so handy. No walking around the outside of the house looking for a place with no wind, lol. I have a little antique cabinet and a end table to paint along with a million other pieces. Thinking about getting a spray gun but scared to take the chance. Love your dishes and the plate rack and pedestal stand you painted. I love all the projects you do!!!

I have some very old picture frames that belong to my grandmother that I would love to paint.

  208. Melissa Anglin says

I have alot of picture frames I need to paint for a picture wall in my livingroom.

  209. Kristina Austin says

I would love to use this for all the many frames that I have that need a makeover! I have been itching to make a few of those frames into trays to. Also waiting for me is a medium to large sized flower pot that has been sitting in my garage unused this summer because its needing some loving.

  210. Angela says

I am currently working on painting picture frames. This spray shelter would save my garage floor! Of course I have other projects waiting in the wings for their makeover too.

  211. Jen says

Oh man, I have lots of projects I would do in the pop up spray tent! Typically I spray my projects on cardboard outside or on a tarp. The tent would allow me a sheltered space that would shield my projects from the elements & bugs. I look forward to seeing your projects often & am inspired to try new things. Have a blessed day,, jen

I remember you excitedly sharing this a while back and I was soo excited but a bit skeptical about the idea. It’s great to know that it has held up well and you’re still using it. Now, I have to have one! Between Christmas and Halloween projects it would get a lot of use, I’m a project Queen ?

  213. Paige Mull says

    Hi Larrisa!
I have platte wood that was not easy to obtain where I live so, I just want to make SOMETHING , ANYTHING! And to have a paint sprayer would be wonderful! I’d make some signs and chalkboard projects! What fun!

  214. Kathy Kikkert says

I would love to win the spray tent. It would make the job when spray painting. Enjoy your projects!

I have five light bulb cages to paint so that I can ‘modernize’ my dining light fixture.

  216. Mary says

I have several items I could use the spray shelter for. Probably one of the first things I would paint would be a buffet or a dresser .Afterwards I have several things I could spray paint. I always have to wait for a day when the wind does not blow. The spray shelter would be a big help for me.

  217. Marie Pearson says

A spray tent would be so wonderful. I have a couple of wooden chairs and some baskets that need to be welcomed into this century! Here in Minnesota we have many breezy days and spray paint containment would increase the number of days available to work on projects. What a great invention!

There are so many things on my list, but I’d start with our nightstand with the ruined top!

Hello! I have a brass colored chandelier that needs to be painted.
    This would be perfect.

  223. Colleen Bean says

I have a few small projects I am in the midst of completing and this would be such a help! I am currently using an cardboard box and wire shelf to set up my items for painting. This would surely simplify my life (and make my worrisome husband happy too!). Love your work!

Hi Larissa, I am a retired paint and body worker. I always had access to the spray booth to paint all of my little
projects. But not anymore. I really like that tent idea. It looks like it works very well. Thank you for the plans on the pet bed. I am going to build one for my little Bella. Thanks again Jeff P.S. Looking forward to seeing your future projects.

I have 3 trays and 3 large tray baskets that need to be painted for Easter. I’ve been saving these projects to paint until I found a perfect box that I could use as a paint shelter. Of course, the perfect box has not come along yet, so maybe this wonderful giveaway is my answer?!?! Thanks for the chance, Larissa. It’s a great idea.
