If you’re here with me, then join me in a happy dance! Why? Because I am FINALLY painting my family room ceiling!
Now… you know I’m not one to back away from a chore, right?
Here are some of my past ceiling remodels:
- Family Room Ceiling – where I left the beams open
- Dining Room Ceiling – also where I left the beams open
- Master Bedroom Ceiling (featured by This Old House) where I created faux beams
- and many more
But this one is going to kick my fanny right proper and leave me ready for a break, me thinks.
However, I’m here to show you how to paint and open beam ceiling the easiest way possible.
Make the kids do it.
ha!
Just kidding.
No, really. There are different ways to go about this and after all my prep work I’m ready to go.
Let’s not wait another minute more and head below to see the painted ceiling!

In the meantime, if you’re signed up for my FREE newsletter, you saw I mention some changes coming to make the final transition from Prodigal Pieces to Livin’ Real with Larissa (LRL) full time.
This has been a long process made longer because… well… I moved from my home of 22 years and have been remodeling every bit of my new home.
With that, I’ve had to work on my site in the wee hours of the morning and late nights.
You will see ads being added to LRL (same as Prodigal Pieces) because this is my livelihood.
However, you will have the option to remove ads on LRL if you prefer that option.
So, stay tuned and be patient as my tech team and I make sure there are little, if any, glitches along the way. I want to make this a space we can keep it real and a family vibe.
Feel free to reach out via email if you have any questions.
Now take a minute to see my ceiling reveal!
