Yes, this little desk is mightily worn and ragged, but there is still life there. You know I’m a sucker for the unloved in furniture, especially when it’s made of wood. Funny thing is my teen daughter was driving to earn driving hours, and I had my older son hop out and grab it. Good kids. haha.

However, before I go any further, I need to give a huge shout-out to my friend, Mandy, who turned this gem over to me. I promised her to do right by her and her ministry. Vintage Piano Bench Makeover to Bedroom Bench

One of the things I like to focus on in my home is function over form. However, it is blissful when they can be melded together. Take for instance this vintage piano bench. Yes, it’s original purpose is for sitting in front of a piano and storing music. Yet, I see a new use in home decor.

The bonus features of this piano bench is that it’s in great condition with the tapered legs, and hinged lid top. Have you seen my other piano bench makeovers? Check them out in these past posts.

Vintage Secretary Desk with Updated Look

Do you ever find yourself fascinated with something and you don’t know why? Yeah, I’m like that too. haha. For today’s purpose, I am confessing my addiction to a particular style of furniture – secretaries. One piece of furniture I believe every home should have is a multi-purpose feature like this vintage secretary desk.

Why, you ask? Well, I realize that we are primarily in the digital age where our bills are paid electronically and we lack the paper trail we used to have in days gone by. However, who can deny the functionality of the cubbies, the fold-down desk, and all the

Vintage Rocking Horse Makeovers for Farmhouse Style

Do you ever have a certain item that you can’t resist? For me, that goes without saying. ahem. I have many vices and one of them is a vintage rocking horse…in any size. Small toy-size ones, medium ones for tiny tots, and then there’s ones like THIS.

Vintage Rocking Horse in Attic Before | prodigalpieces.com

I do believe I have never passed one up whether at the flea market or thrift store. Back when my oldest turned two years old, I created one just for him. Even my kids have reworked a few. You can see another I’ve done in this post. They’re just so fun, provide wondrous play, and even make adorable decor for children from 1-99. However, this particular vintage rocking horse has a story.

THE BACKSTORY

I’ve often mentioned my friend, Mandy, and her ministry Paid in Full. I belong to her group on Facebook and like to do what I can to help. She offers items to those who need it for free, but also auctions items off to help offset funding the group needs. When this wooden beauty popped up in my feed, you can bet

Amazingly enough, I now have two teen drivers in my home. {{gasp!!}} I am not that old(ish), am I? Sigh… Well, in order for said teens to have wheels, they need money. And, in my mama-lovin’ way, I do what I can to help my kids earn the money they need. My daughter, Miss C, has reworked plenty of furniture in her time (SEE HERE). She is hoping for a project piece to sell to raise said funds.

I hopped online and found this cute girls vanity table set. Thankfully, we both agree it is
