“Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I will say, rejoice!”, Philippians 4:4. Truly it’s a way of being and I am thankful for my new home garage happening amidst the crazy.
Doesn’t everyone have crazy? Of course, we all do. It just may vary from person to person.
With moving into my home a month ago, so much has been going on, as you can imagine. I’ve shared:
- bedroom wall framing
- backyard restoration beginning
- bedroom addition lighting
- bedroom closet
- and more
What is more, I feel like I’m being tested – though I know that testing is part of life.
I had an opportunity this week to charge in like a bull or return with grace. One of my children did something dangerous unknowingly. I reacted, they lied, and then they also disobeyed.
Shock… a kid doing those things, right? But this was different.
In the moment, I took myself away so I could compose myself because I was not only dealing with youthfulness, but also a spectrum brain (which I don’t fully understand but I try).
I was able to bring them back and have a discussion to help us both understand. Yes, I would have loved to not have had to deal with that. However, I’m also thankful that I chose to pause and reflect.
It’s not always easy being a parent or even a human, eh?
