Thrifted Bread Box Makeover

You're strolling along through thrift store items, and you find something so awful that you need to... er... adopt it. That was the case with this thrifted bread box. It's handmade, so utterly dark, and too big. Let's do this thing right and give it a much-needed facelift. Okay, so you know, ... READ the POST

Damaged Blanket Chest Revival

What better way to start the day, the week and the month than with a #trashure makeover, right? Check out this damaged blanket chest I found curbside. Yes, there are other goodies there (I took the mirror for my daughter's new place), but someone else got the rack and I ... READ the POST

Antique Dresser Makeover

Making changes can cause some to react differently. Some may have a fear reaction, whereas others may have an excitement response. A change is in the air and it's time this antique dresser makeover happens. This has occupied the master bedroom for about ten years. I loved how the dark wood contrasts ... READ the POST

Thrifted Basket for Housewarming Gift

If you're like me, you're doing your routine stops in a thrift store or garage sale (or even Curb le Chic) can lead you to baskets. I'm thrifted basket gal myself but have cut immensely back in not only owning them but bringing them home. So, why did I bring home this Harry & David gift basket ... READ the POST

Thrifted Wood Bin Makeover

It ain't every day that a gal gets inspired by hearts. Or maybe I should say inspired by the challenge to remove said hearts. I'm not heartless, by any means, but when I spy a thrifted wood bin like this one below, I say game on. If you're new here, you may not know that geese, cute Amish, and ... READ the POST

Repurposed Headboard

It's BIG, it's chunky, and I'm ready for a repurposed headboard project. Are you? If this thing doesn't bring back flashbacks from the 80's I don't know what will. haha. This waterbed headboard served its purpose, but now I get to have some fun with it. And, just so you know, this isn't my ... READ the POST

Larissa looks at things with fresh eyes, she problem solves creatively, and I love how she uses her "stash" of valuable "junk" in the process.

What attracted me to Prodigal Pieces at first was the business name. What kept me interested is her opening up to share her life with her readers. She shares her beautiful creativity, has tutorials in her blog and takes what was old and makes it new again. I have several of her beautiful pieces decorating my home.
