Salvaged Coat Rack

Does weather effect your work? It does mine. I long-since grown weary of working in my workshop during our very long Ohio winters. It's dark, colder than outside in there, and not fun to work in oodles of layers. However, I'm still on a mission to pare down and make use of things that I've had ... READ the POST

DIY Freestanding Pouch & Thoughts

When's the last time you gave yourself a gift? Like not a sweet treat, or a new pair of shoes, but actually a gift that gets to your soul. One that is not material either, but more lifting to your being. Same as my last post where I created embroidered bears, I'm wanting to share with you in my ... READ the POST

DIY Spool Sheep

Tis the season for purging! Well, when isn't it that season, right? Better yet, don't bring that junk home. haha. With my occupation, most people assume I bring all kinds of things home. However, in the last decade, and as part of being a DIY blogger, I've become so strict about what I bring home. ... READ the POST

Thrifted Box Makeover

Maybe I'm a little quirky because when I "shop", I'm not looking for the pretty but rather the downtrodden, the misfit, the broken, and let's face it... ugly. This thrifted box makeover falls into that final category, in my opinion. Here's how it went down: I walk into the thrift store to ... READ the POST

Larissa looks at things with fresh eyes, she problem solves creatively, and I love how she uses her "stash" of valuable "junk" in the process.

What attracted me to Prodigal Pieces at first was the business name. What kept me interested is her opening up to share her life with her readers. She shares her beautiful creativity, has tutorials in her blog and takes what was old and makes it new again. I have several of her beautiful pieces decorating my home.
