Upcycled Child’s Stool from Rockers

While I'm always hanging on to bits and pieces of someone else's junk, I certainly don't turn my head away from solid wood like oak. Take these rockers off the broken cradle I repurposed. There's nothing wrong with them other than they need a new purpose. With that in mind, follow along with me as I ... READ the POST

Fabric Scraps Pig

The last Tuesday of every month (or so I try) I get so excited to share with you a Reduce, Reuse, REFASHION project with you. Not only does this allow me to get my stitch fix, but also my crafty side gets to play. While I don't always sew, I definitely like to get to use different mediums. Take ... READ the POST

Glass Cabinet Makeover

What's better than finding something for low cost? Getting to make it your own {{fist pump!!}} Seriously, you know how fun a treasure hunt as well as sharing with everyone what you paid for it. Check out this mini I found recently at a local ministry's thrift store. I get to donate to help our ... READ the POST

Rusty Farmhouse Decor

While some leftovers can be tossed, that's surely not the case with these bits below. If you recall, I recently repurposed the legs of an antique Singer sewing machine I found curbside (aka. #trashure). Instead, I am making rusty farmhouse decor that will take these two finds to new ... READ the POST

Farmhouse Hanging Basket

I've often admitted I have a "thing" for any and all baskets. Are you the same? They're functional, add style, and come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and textures. The one you see below has been hanging in my home for over a decade. While I've enjoyed it in the as-is condition, I feel it's time for ... READ the POST

Vintage Sewing Box Makeover

As a middle-aged gal, I feel that certain pastimes are slowly fading out. Crochet, knitting, embroidery, and sewing are a few of them. Do you agree? When I am offered this vintage sewing box, I wanted to give it a facelift while still giving a nod to "vintage" in general. Isn't it a fun ... READ the POST

Larissa looks at things with fresh eyes, she problem solves creatively, and I love how she uses her "stash" of valuable "junk" in the process.

What attracted me to Prodigal Pieces at first was the business name. What kept me interested is her opening up to share her life with her readers. She shares her beautiful creativity, has tutorials in her blog and takes what was old and makes it new again. I have several of her beautiful pieces decorating my home.
