Vintage Horse Head Bookends

For whatever reason, I'm absolutely smitten with bookends. My family and I are definitely bibliophiles (lovers of books), so maybe that's the appeal? Either way, you know I just couldn't leave the vintage horse head bookends on the thrift store shelf...right? At first glance, they are in need of a ... READ the POST

Tilt Top Table Makeover from the Curb

Take a peek at the tilt top table found curbside (aka. Curb le Chic). Hard to believe that was left for the curb, right? I feel that it's providential that a friend saw an after-garage-sale post for a few leftover freebies. She said she instantly thought of me after seeing it. Isn't that ... READ the POST

Hanging Fence Planter from Reclaimed Wood

You know good and well I don't like to consider something to be trash unless it is totally worthless. In this case, I'm taking a build I made four years ago and salvaging what I can for new. If you look below, you can see a DIY centerpiece planter I made for our patio decor. It was time my reclaimed ... READ the POST

Thrifted Kitchen Canisters Get Vintage Makeover

Isn't there a phrase that states, "All good things come in threes?" I don't think I put much stock in that, but I will say that when my friend offered me these thrifted kitchen canisters, I knew it was a good thing that I should eagerly accept. I mean, who can't use more storage, especially in the ... READ the POST

DIY Arched Garden Trellis

You guuuuys! For me, it's the little things that make my heart sing. I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one who's ever waited for something and then is skip-happy when the day finally arrives for your vision to come true. Below is my raised bed garden. Yes, it's in my front yard and yes, I love it. I ... READ the POST

Vintage Queen Anne Table Makeover

As a mama to 6 funtastic kids, nothing makes my heart happier to see them learning and growing and succeeding on their own. If you've been with me for long, you know that they are ol' pros as working on projects of their own. Take this vintage Queen Anne table, for instance. My next to oldest ... READ the POST

Larissa looks at things with fresh eyes, she problem solves creatively, and I love how she uses her "stash" of valuable "junk" in the process.

What attracted me to Prodigal Pieces at first was the business name. What kept me interested is her opening up to share her life with her readers. She shares her beautiful creativity, has tutorials in her blog and takes what was old and makes it new again. I have several of her beautiful pieces decorating my home.
