Having a family of 8 is such a blessing. I take my 6 kids with me to run errands, go on junkin’ adventures, and just have some plain ol’ fun. Our family vehicle is our trustworthy steed that gets a whole lotta lovin’. Back before children my husband and I gave our vehicles a head-to-toe cleaning every two weeks, with a DIY detailing each month. Do you think that happens now? Ahahahahaha…not on your life. But…now with my new tool I am going to get down and dirty and give our ride a chemical free cleaning. Check it out.
*post is sponsored by HomeRight. (see full disclosure)
Back in the days of yore, my go-to tools for auto cleaning were my bottle of window cleaner, cotton swabs, an old toothbrush, and a rag. It would take me hours to tackle to upholstery, clean the windows and doors, not to mention the carpet. With this AutoRight Steam Machine I can not only get it done faster, but also achieve a chemical free cleaning. Yeehaw!
BACKGROUND
Let me give you some background…I was due with our 5th child and had no vehicle to carry all of us because we sold our van. IÂ had been frantically trying to find a suburban before my baby’s arrival and put a wanted ad out to see if we could find one within our budget. An answer to prayer came hours after I posted and were able to not only locate one, but it was a few thousand under most in price and had excellent mileage. PERFECT for us.
You might be thinking…uh oh (because of scammers), but since my husband knows vehicles he checked it out and all was good. Turns out this guy had like 5 of them and wanted them off his property, but hadn’t gotten around to selling them yet. The catch was that it used to be a company vehicle and it had a little wear on the interior.
I didn’t care and just wanted something to suit our needs. We never got it clean as we wanted to at that point, and have been aching to get it done right. Most, if not all, of the stains are from the employees dumping coffee and soaps as we don’t really eat in our vehicle.
DIY TIME
Because I was so stoked to tackle my truck, I made a little spoof to show you …
Can you believe it? Not only is this terrifically awesome, but it is CHEMICAL FREE! Â I am all about that because that’s why I didn’t clean it thus far. Also, I don’t want my kids riding around in a chemical bath. Now my truck went from this…
…to this!! No residues and kills 99% bacteria. Chemical free cleaning gives me the best feeling.
All this little red powerhouse needs is water and it’s ready to go. Just look at the assortment of fun attachments that fit inside, plus those pictured above:
- crevice tool – to fit in all the nooks and crannies
- jet nozzle – for blasting dirt and grime
- various sized nylon brushes (black bristles) – for hard plastic surfaces
- large and small soft nylon brushes (grey bristles) – for leather
- various sized brass brushes – for auto parts and tires
- squeegee with base for windows, and a poly/cotton bonnet for fabric upholstery.
CLEANING
The attachments offer so many cleaning devices for every kind of upholstery, including leather. Hover, the set even comes with a funnel, measuring cup, and a terry cloth towel.
Look at how much dirt I got off the arm rest in a couple of passes…bluck.
Then, there’s even brass bristle brushes for tires and auto parts.
The first thing I said to my teenage son who was helping me was, “We can’t tell your father about this yet.” Why? Because I know he won’t work on our kitchen remodel when he gets his hands on this! bwahahaha… tsk. Likewise, my son even wants to clean his bike with it. Can you tell we are hooked?
It is not surprising that this machine lived up to its name because of my love for my other HomeRight products in my tool arsenal. The best part is…I get to share one with you! YAHOO!!

OMG, I would clean my car completely with that sucker! It has light gray velour seats and they show everything!!
This would be perfect for that, April. You will love it!
Sure seems like it would clean just about anything! My husband’s 2003 GMC Sierra could sure use some of this steamy lovin’!!
I even had some chemical stains that were left by the previous owner that came out. I am over the moon!
That’s an awesome little thing! The size would be great for me due to my arthritis. Starting my Christmas list!
That’s the best part. Super-easy to use, especially for me as with all I do my elbow and wrists give me trouble. It has a locking trigger to ease your grip ache.
Wow! We have five drivers in our house and we all drive OLD vehicles! I’ll have to throw the dice for which car gets the cleaning first. However, what I would really want to try it on is the dirty, disgusting walking path through our family room carpet!
You sound like the future us…hahaha… This would be perfect for you, Sharon!
This is awesome!! I could find soo soo many uses for this tool!!! I also admire you and everything you do!! Thanks so much for sharing everything and for allowing us the opportunity to win something like this!!
Awesome to hear, Mary! Thanks for making me smile. 😀
Holy cow!! That is exactly what I have been looking for! We have an older cat who is having some bathroom issues due to arthritis and going out and renting a carpet cleaner is not always in the budget, and those carpet cleaning chemicals in a can bother most everyone in the house. This would be perfect to help with her little accidents and avoid killing the budget and suffocating everyone in the house with chemical smells!!!!
I hear you on that, Debra. Cleaners can be so expensive and ain’t nobody got the time to rent one over and over. Plus, chemical free is the best!
Love love homeright products would love to ad to my sprayer and shelter there products are amazing and I’m sure this will just ask amazing ask there other products !
I would clean my van!
Wahoo!! 😀
Love that this doesn’t use chemicals! Is the upholstery damp from the steam when u finish?
The best part! Just a slight dampness, but it doesn’t take long to dry as it is so hot from the steam.
All my kids are teenagers now so we have 5 cars using up all the neighborhoods’ parking! I believe we go right down the list of cars – by the time we got #5 finished, no doubt it will be time to redo #1!!
Whoa! That will be us one day. hahaha…
What a great birthday present this would make for my husband! He’s the car caretaker in our 4-vehicle household!
This would be perfect!!
Oh My Gosh, I was just telling my husband how much I want one of these to do our bathrooms and tile floors (to begin with). Loved the video!
We also have a Suburban; I think the previous owner drank pop in there as if he was celebrating a NASCAR win. Shake up the bottle and let fly! That would be the first thing I’d tackle. Thanks for the chance to win, Larissa!
That is hilarious!! I will always own a suburban. The only vehicle that can fit kids and furniture, plus is 4 whell drive!
When my kids were little and I had a van, I’d rent the big machines at the grocery store to do my floors, and pay an extra $10 to get the upholstery wand. I would do my coych and chairs, then take all the seats out of the van and do the floors and ceiling as well as the doors. Then I’d do all the seats and put them back in. Nothing cleans/deodorises like steam.
I love it for cleaning my grout in my tile too and my drapes. So many uses!
We would love to have this …can’t afford the car detail prices! Thanks for the chance to win…
Plus detailing uses chemicals in most instances. You bet!
My best answer to the question is EVERYTHING! My patio, car, leather sofa, carpet and, oh my, the list could go on and on. I REALLY need this!!
YES!! 😀 hahahaha…good answer!
We basically live in our car during football season. (My husband coaches and my oldest plays) This would definitely come in handy!
Absolutely!
Awesome handy tool. Who doesn’t need one? Thanks for making me aware of it. Winning it would be fantastic!
You bet! I wish I had one for everyone. 🙂
Nice cleaning tool to have.
Seriously a favorite of mine. So easy to use.
I have 2 cars and both the floor mats in each need to be cleaned.
Perpetual job, right? 😀
I would sooooo clean my car and couch with this. 🙂
My truck could sure use this machine with 2 saint bernards and the kids.
ooh…I bet!!
My ten year old car could use a good scrub. Just have to find a power source. Live in an apartment so maybe visit and clean. Maybe my son would like to do his truck too.
Ours are older and we don’t mind as they are our and no loans. YAHOO!! I think you can use it most anywhere, Donna. 🙂
I would clean my Jeep. It has so many spills and stains.
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Sounds perfect!
Love the little video:) lol…..I so need to clean my car as well,we are on a pension and can’t afford to have it done professionally, this would be just what we need, since my car is a 2004,it is in need of a bath!!
tee hee…thanks! At least your car in the 2000’s ha! You will love this.
I like the relatively small size of this little powerhouse !
Yes, and super-lightweight too. Must get one!
my car!
Perfect!
Yes, yes! What a great looking product. Old cars around here that need some special TLC. Thanks for the info and the opportunity to win!
You bet!
This looks awesome, I’m just curious to know if it would really clean my dirty car!! Would love to find out!!
If it did my old beast, then you know it will do yours. Hope you win!
I would clean my Jeep that my dogs love to ride in.
How fun!!
Thanks so much for this product review. Can’t wait to see what I can get clean(er)!! I have also seen these give a chemical free crevice clean to toilets. Can I get a fist bump for germ killing?
oh yes…amen!!
OMG – Not just for new/young families – I’m 66 and still have car seats in my car!….LOVE adventures with my grandbabies!! AND, chemical-free, HUGE bonus!!
Exactly. I plan to be a grandma to dozens some day! Congrats to you. 🙂
That is a great product. Do you think you can use it on tile in your bathroom too? Thanks.
Absolutely and you know I will!
Oh, that sounds like a great tool to have not only for our personal vehicles but our company ones as well!!
Yep, especially being that I own an old company vehicle. tee hee. 😀
The first thing I clean would be our “new to us” pickup. The prior owner had a little long haired white dog. Well, there are copious amounts of that white hair throughout our supposedly clean pickup that we purchased. The pickup also smells like little white haired dog when it gets warm in there. Might have something to do with the left over hair! There is no doubt in my mind that a good old steam cleaning would remedy the problem!
Yes, pet hair can drive a person nuts!!
My car first, then all the rest. There’s also a little kitty spot I’d like to try it on. What a great little machine!
Sounds like a plan, Heather. 😉
Wow!! I would clean my camper !!
That’s a perfect use!
Love that video Larissa! You had me cracking up!
That’s what it’s all about, Mary. 😀 Thanks!
I’m amazed — and I would clean our SUV in a jiffy!
Yes, indeed, Dana!
Oh man, I need this for my van!
Perfect!
I really need one of these!!
Nothing can stop me now! 😀
You are the Queen of Clean with this beauty. Thanks for posting it. It’s always good to get a “real” recommendation!
hahaha…a title I will cherish forever. 😉 I’m all about only promoting things I would use myself.
In addition to cleaning our cars, I would use this to clean the bathroom (shower doors and tiles), for window cleaning and also small appliances.
So much to clean and so much more fun now!
I was just kind of forced to buy a newer car and I found as 2015 with just 3,000 miles on it so that doesn’t need a lot of cleaning but . . . . . Inside our house we have 2 big dogs and 2 cats. One of our dogs is 12 and has cancer so she has a few “accidents” and when I say a few I mean a lot. One of cats also likes to eat so much that she throws up and of course it has to be on our light covered rug. I no longer use any chemicals to clean so this would be a wonderful product for our house.
Pets are wonderful, but they are like anyone else and TLC. This would be perfect.
My husband’s truck finally died and now he uses mine exclusively. I LOVE my truck and have always taken special care for it. Poor thing. He’s a busy man and cleaning is not on his radar. I would absolutely give my truck a good cleaning then start on my car. What an awesome machine!!
Ouch to watch, but I know what you mean. My husband will be getting mine soon so I can get a newer one. Yay!
That is so cool! I’d clean my husband’s truck – between work and the dogs, it’s rather dirty inside! Or I’d use it to spot clean the rug where the cat throws up. Love that it’s chemical free!
Too funny! I know how it goes, Cecilia. 😉
What a great giveaway! I’ve been wanting one of these forever! I have a little handheld clothes steamer but it only lasts about 2 minutes and you can’t tip it or the scalding hot water will come out (not a good idea, lol). I would love this for my car among other things! And I don’t have young children, they’re grown and moved out but…I do have a husband, enough said!!!
Thanks for the great opportunity! Again, you rock!
Amen to that, Candy. hahaha…
I have been down for the count since Aug. 7th. Fell off a step ladder. Sooooo……My Husband had been driving my car rather than his truck. The last time I rode in my car, was visiting the Doctor. I almost had a heart attack. This product would really come in handy. I love your blog. I have sifted out alot, but yours remains one of my favorites. Thank you.
Oh no, Laura!! So sorry to hear that…no fun. Thank you for keeping me on the A list. 😀
The first thing I would clean is my shower. I hate using chemicals in an enclosed space.
Yes, just the worst thing in the world.
I would clean the inside of my car first!
Makes sense to me!
My Dad’s car! I’ve driven him to countless dr’s appointments in the past year, and it could definitely use a good cleaning.
awww…You’re an awesome daughter. <3
My 16 year old mini-van that is being handed down to my teenage son. We haul everything for our DIY projects in it and it’s our go to vehicle for hauling the pets around as well…..
Awesome he gets some wheels and it could be cleaned too!
This is the perfect size for me in my tiny apartment and has so many uses! This would be so great especially since my old machine quit on me last week ! Thanks for this opportunity!
Timing is perfect. Here’s hoping!!
My car could definitely use this, and I can think of so many other uses in and about our home.
So, so many uses!
Wow–the list is endless! Car, truck, trailer,–does it do well on the kids? 😉
Thanks!!
hahaha…Hmmm… 😀
Perfect for the car!
You bet!
I’d love to try it on my car and on my outdoor rugs!
Great uses for it, Karyn. 😀
I would start with my car! Then on to everyone’s cars! I have many driving children! Haha, young adult. ; )
Perfect for all of you.
Oh, I would clean my car’s mats and seats first! I avoid chemicals because of my health. My car’s interior is beige because of my shedding dogs. It doesn’t hide any dirt, but the fur blends in. 😉
We all should avoid chemicals, and this would certainly help with those fur babies. 🙂
This would be awesome to clean out my truck!
Woot! It would be a blessing for sure, Brandy.
First, I would clean the jute rug I have in my kitchen. Next would be my lovely old Subaru. Then I would use it on my dining room chairs. Maybe I wouldn’t have to recover them! AS soon as I get your email, I open it to see what you are up to. I don’t know how you keep your head above water with 6 kids and all that you do, but I am so impressed. My best to you, your beautiful children, and your hard-working husband. You are blessed and deserve to be.
Wahoo!! Sounds like a game plan, Gwen. Thank you so much for the love.
I would LOVE to have this machine. My vehicle needs to be cleaned so badly. This machine would do wonders to make it clean. Thank you Larissa for the opportunity to win this wonderful machine!!!!
My pleasure, Carol!
I would love to have one of these. I could even use it on my furniture at home!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Yes, absolutely!
what a great machine! Carpets! definitely carpets! Thanks so much for being here!
You go girl! 😀
Not just cars…tiles, toilets, bathtubs, walls, floors, Windows, etc… And steam actually disinfect. I want one.
all.of.it. You can do so much with this red gem.
Well this looks great. I loved the homeright paint sprayer. It worked as well as you said so I am thinking about this now. I like endorsements from real people who have used items and prove it. That is the best way to judge. Thanks for sharing
That’s what I’m all about, Gail. I’m pretty picky as to what I would recommend to purchase, so I make sure it stands to the test. This thing is sweet!
Definitely the car! And then the carpets and floors!?
You remind me of the Wizard of Oz…hee heeh hee Oh my!
Very NICE!
So many possibilities. I would start with my daughter’s car 🙂
You’re a good mom. 😀
I have used a steam cleaner for years on my hard floors. It just died after 10 years. Chemical free cleaning with steam works so well. I would love to have one for the car. thanks for the chance to win one.
Perfect timing!
I would love this to clean my car seats. My husband loaded an old lawn mower in the back seat and the gas smell just hasn’t come out.
Ugh…gas smell is the worst. 😉
What would I clean first? Hmmm, his truck? My truck? The suburban? Let’s just make it a whole day of cleaning vehicles!!!
Sounds like a paaartay!!
Now this is a great gift for any car lover!! male or female. My sister washes her car every week and so does her son!!! they would love this!!This would be be great in my craft room…oh those dreaded paint spills!!!1
Oh yes, so many stain and so little time. 🙂
My van and some furniture, maybe our mattresses?
I would first clean our family vehicle, and then my husband’s car. Both are OLD and seen a lot of use with not enough cleaning :o)
I hear ya on that. 😉
My couch & recliner would be like new after this steam cleaner machine got done with them. Thanks
You bet they would! I have a tufted sofa I’m going to have a go at. Wahoo!!
