Upcycled Denim Pocket Purse

Hey friends! Today is Reduce, Reuse, REFASHION time where the last Tuesday of each month I share a fun way to upcycle, reuse, repurpose items into fashion, home decor and more. Today, I’m all about those old jeans and giving them a new life with upcycle denim pocket purses.

These are a pair of my husband’s old jeans with holes in the seat. Don’t ask me how those got there? ahem. However, instead of chucking them into the trash, there is a whole lotta fabric that still has perfect upcycling purpose.

While I could give you limitless options how to use it all, I’m going to only focus on utilizing those pockets today.

Feed Sack Tote Bag ~ reduce, reuse, REFASHION

Oh happy dance over here! I’m super excited to be back at my sewing machine again for my reduce, reuse, REFASHION fun I share this time each month. What’s that, you say? I am aiming to encourage you to reduce waste, reuse what you have on hand, and refashion it into something for yourself, your home, or for others. Today these hand-me-down bits of cloth are going to become a feed sack tote bag.

Feed Sack Purse ~ Repurposed Farmhouse Style

It’s DIY time around here….actually, when isn’t it?  That’s all I know.  I live for creating and letting loose with tools and my “toys”.  Some of my favorite mediums to work with are linen and leather, not to mention utilizing repurposed items. Check out how I took a few of these things and made myself a feed sack purse. Yee Haw!!

To say that I got a bit excited is an understatement. Linen…my all-time, drool-worthy, most favoritest fabric on the planet! Pair that with leather and I’m in textile heaven. Since having finally broke free of our medical bill burden and getting back to normal life, I’ve been taking on projects for me and my family, starting with this chair makeover. See…linen…eep!

I’ve been aching to get back to my long lost sewing machine and satisfy my craving to sew, and this month was the time.  After a couple of years of not really being able to sit down and stitch to my heart’s content, I’m “back in the saddle again”. {enter in lowly cowboy music}
