“I’m back in the saddle again…” It’s time for Round 4 of my curbside haul #trashure adventure. Yahoo! If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, you’ll want to catch up to speed by heading to my first post and working through my DIY fun. Today, my focus is that lovely duo on the left. I’m going to turn them into grain sack antique chairs and show you how too. (giveaway alert!!)
I mentioned before that when I need a chair to complete a project, I can’t find one for anything. I’ll shop all over the place and come up empty-handed. However, it is quite the norm that when I have no need (nor room) for a chair, I will find not one, but two. ahem.
First, let me say that I normally would have grabbed these
Do you ever have one of those projects that just seems like it keeps bugging you that it needs tweaking? Well, one of the best things about our home is the storage. Our home may be on the small side, but it is tweaked out for storage. A favorite feature is our mudroom. Today, I’m going to share (yet another) mudroom update. This is the third time around, but it’s high time we get it right!
Now, don’t go judging me, k? This mess is after I already took apart the stuff in here. To get a true view of
It’s that time again where my Trash to Treasure buddies and I put together a whole slew of inspiration for you the first Tuesday of each month . I’m excited! Not only do I get to share with you again, but this time it’s something for ME. It’s not often I get to work on a project for myself, so pardon me for being a little giddy. tee hee. Today, my goal is to give my vintage industrial office chair a makeover like none other.
First, let me tell you the back story behind this chair. I wrote about it back in one of my very early blog posts
Do you like to change things up from time to time? It’s not a new revelation that I enjoy change, especially making things broken and worn new again. Sometimes I begin a little adventure because I have to and other times because I want to. Today is an “I want to” kinda project. You see, this old chest of drawers has been tucked in my sons’ closet for few years and I am relieving it of its hardworking status. It is now time for it to be come a glorified upcycled map cabinet. Yahoo!!
Can you see my vision for this? Well, no worries if not. I’m here to show you my nutty ways. mwahahaha…
When I say this thing was hardworking, I wasn’t kidding. I put this in my boys’ room hoping to help them stay clean and organized. Well…my good intentions went down the drain. All they did was
The times that I find most exhilarating is when I have an idea and can’t wait to get it complete. Do you ever do that? I mean, in this instance, I was inspired on first glance of this little cutie at a thrift store. What it would become for sure didn’t hit until I got it home, but there was no doubt in my mind that it would become something new. Yes, I’m quirky, but you’ll understand when you see what I do with my upcycled bookcase. Let the fun begin!
You may be wondering what I see in this thing, but really, it’s all about function. I adore pieces that can go in most any room. In spite of the wear, this one is made solid enough, but just needs
Do you ever have something that just sits in your home for what seems like forever, just waiting for you to give it the love it needs? Well, I may have more than one item hanging around here like that because we are remodeling, and it’s taking f.o.r.e.v.e.r. I sweetly whisper to them, “Don’t worry, your time will come.” If you think I am now nuts, just hang with me. You see this little gem below? It’s waited too long, so I’m having a piano bench makeover today. woot! (giveaway alert!)
Truth be told, it’s actually a bench from an organ we used to own. Once upon a time we were given a free organ and had a blast using it along with our antique upright grand piano you see above. The organ eventually
You know you are loved when your friends bring you gifts like this…right? Mandy is always getting her hands on some sweet finds and she set aside this mirror saying it had my name written all over it. What do you think? Well, I gladly accepted, though I wasn’t sure if I should. Check out how I created an upcycled dresser with this mirror that makes it look like they belong together.
I’ll never deny I’m a sucker for mirrors in all shapes and sizes. They add light and depth to a room, but can be reworked in many ways. The size of this one kinda limited its repurposing capabilities, but you know I’m game to try.
My first thought was to find a dresser suitable and if that didn’t work out, I’d find a new use for it. Well, within 5 minutes of looking online, I found this antique gem right in my
Sometimes there are projects that you envision in your head the minute you spy something. Maybe that doesn’t always happen, but when it does it is fantastically fun to get it done. That’s what happened to me when I spied this beauty below.. Did I need a headboard…no. Did I need another project…not really. But…did I want to take this vintage gem and create a French Provincial headboard bench…YES!
A local lady posted this on Craigslist and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to check it out. The caning alone is what caught my attention, but I’ve always had a heart for
Oh what fun it is to be with friends! Today is Trash to Treasure Tuesday where my blogger gals and I get together to share our latest makeovers and creations with you to INSPIRE. What you see below is my focus of today’s post – you will see my friends’ posts in a bit. My good friend, Mandy, spotted this entire set on the curb and claimed them for me. Woot! Therefore, you are in for a dining set makeover.
I will be honest that when Mandy sent me the picture of the chairs that she had found asking me if I wanted them…I hesitated. Why? Well, if you’ve followed me for long, you know that I have undoubtedly sworn off
