Industrial Desk Match Made in Heaven

One of the perks of doing what I do is being able to swap out items whenever I feel the need for change or whenever it jumps out and screams to me, “Buy me, buy me!” Back in late summer I posted about some treasures I had found while out junking (you can read about it in this post about two desks).  I had kept the one for my sewing desk replacement, but it didn’t really jive with the awesome vintage industrial desk office chair I had snatched out of the neighbors trash.  I like the chair better than the desk, but was super-happy to have the desk.

Last week, while out on my thrifting runs, I came across a giant beauty…this glorious industrial steamer desk!!!  And it matched my chair!!

I actually left it there in the store and was unsure if it would fit in my available space. However, I knew later that day that I would make it fit. Wouldn’t you?

Before I had found the earlier desk, I was hoping to find a cheap inexpensive steel desk.  These beasts offer ample surface space to be used as a cutting surface (instead of crawling around on the floor), tons of drawer space for storing my goodies, and shouts out retro. Don’t you just love it!?

As for my first love, it is now for sale in my shop (SOLD).  I’ve added a Duncan Phyfe chair with a faux grain sack seat.

I am always waning from style to style, from shabby, to farmhouse, to retro. It makes life fun!
