It isn’t every time that I make a good score at the thrift store. It’s kinda like a desert with random oases. Do you know what I mean? What makes it even more funny is that everyone there is like they’re in a gold mine protecting their cart of loot and ready to fight for it. geesh! In my latest run, I snagged this little painted cutie. Today, I’m going to take it up a notch and turn it into a vintage apothecary cabinet.
I wasn’t kidding about the folks in a thrift store. I’ve seen some fight after one took something out of another one’s cart. Imagine my eyeballs popping out with mouth hanging open like…what??? haha. Funny, but not funny. Anyhoo, I just smile and carry on with my business making short-talk with a smile to anyone I encounter. I’m a fun gal like that.

He is the reason that this forlorn piece of furniture is my subject for today’s Furniture Fixer Upper fun. Thankfully, I can laugh and have a go at making this into an apothecary cabinet. Stay with me, I’ll explain below. Oh, and be sure to read through to see the furniture makeover goodness from my friends too.
JC had one job to do. Mind you he works full-time, is the one who ships everything for me from my shop, furniture and all, and is our main dude in our remodeling adventures. So, I guess he deserves a little slack, but…this happens A LOT. I asked him to stop by and pick up this “filing cabinet” (as the lady described), but only bring it home if it was solid wood and would hold my files. ahem…does it look like solid wood to you?
