Footstool Upholstery ~ It really is that easy

One of the questions I often get asked is, "Is upholstery really that hard?" Truth is that no, it isn't when you have the right tools, lots of practice, and plenty of patience. It's the kinda thing you can figure out the basic jist of it by diving in. To give you a glimpse of how easy it really can ... READ the POST

Antique Empire Chest Refreshed

It never seems to fail that when I enter a thrift store searching for item A, I come out with items B, C, D E, F....you get the idea. So, is the solution to just not look for item A? Nah. Too much fun to run through the alphabet. hee hee. Does that happen to you? I went in looking for a chair and ... READ the POST

Vintage Chest Makeover with Prairie Style

Do you ever find yourself wondering what it was like to live in a certain time period? One era I am sure wondering if I had what it took to survive were the days of prairie life, the 1800's. Those folks had such determination to make it. While I sit at my desk with a screen full of comfort and ease, ... READ the POST

Framed Doily Wall Art from Curbside Finds

You are driving along and see a pile of picture frames on the side of the road. Do you drive on? Or do you, like me, hit the brakes and grab them? tsk. You best be hoping out of your car! {{shakes her finger}} We're talkin' trashure today, peeps. I spied a stack of frames on the side of the road ... READ the POST

Repurposed Changing Table Potting Bench

One thing I can't resist is a good #trashure find (ya know, one man's trash is another woman's treasure?). City clean-up was held recently, and I mentioned how I was a good girl until I saw this haul. The next day was Sunday and, on the way, to church I spied something else face down on the ground. ... Larissa looks at things with fresh eyes, she problem solves creatively, and I love how she uses her "stash" of valuable "junk" in the process.

What attracted me to Prodigal Pieces at first was the business name. What kept me interested is her opening up to share her life with her readers. She shares her beautiful creativity, has tutorials in her blog and takes what was old and makes it new again. I have several of her beautiful pieces decorating my home.
