There will be days we don’t all feel in our prime and maybe feel like quitting. Not only that, but we look and feel like we’re carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. However, that isn’t how everyone sees us. Just like this tiered side table. It looks awful, even past prime. I see potential and beauty within. Do you?
While some will turn up their noses at the state this is in. Whereas, I know that with a little elbow grease, it will shine again. Am I right?
DIY TIME
First, I want to tackle the damage to the bottom tier. Unfortunately, it looks like someone set a bottle of chemicals on it and it burned thru the finish. So, I pull out my sander and take off the finish. I’m not dealing with solid wood, so I need to be careful. Here is my set ready for the next steps.
Next, I put the table back together and apply a primer/sealer to prep the surface for paint. Then, I’m applying a basic white paint to give this tiered side table a fresh new look.
Last, while the paint part is done, I want to add a bit of flair. I use a wreath design facing down into the glass cabinet top. Afterward, with a bit of paint, I apply the wreath to the underside.
THE REVEAL
As a result, here is my tiered side table with a fresh new look. Would you believe it’s the same table?
At last, I’m happy to say it’s a night and day difference. eep! Also, my favorite is the peek-a-boo color inside the top cabinet. I just had to add some of my favorite color.
As an end result, my hope is that you will not only see past the obvious in derelict pieces or pieces that you have around your own home that need tossed. In addition, I believe with my whole heart that God, who created you in all love, sees you as the most beautiful in all your parts. In the same thought, forget what others think they see or what you think they see. Be the best YOU you can be.
Likewise, if you’d like to make this tiered side table your own, you can find it available in my online shop.
Also, do pin and share the refreshed makeover to inspire others.

Oh that little sweetie now looks so much better, Larissa! Thank you for giving her new life. If it were mine, I would love to put little seasonal items in it, like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, 4th of July (probably carried over from Memorial Day). That would be so much fun because I would put this where I read and have my tea. Love your wreath design.
Wishing you and your family a WONDERFUL, HEALTHY, HAPPY NEW YEAR!! God bless.
Happy dance! Thank you, Cate. That sounds like a wonderful idea! My husband would stick remotes in there. haha.
Love your makeover of this table!
What is your favorite peek-a-boo color and what brand of paint is it?
Thanks! No guess? It’s the often mentioned Slate Green by Glidden as seen in my home.
Well, didn’t that come out pretty! Lovely job! I love the painted glass!
You are so fun, Becky! Thank you for saying so.
