When it comes to kids, I find it wonderfully fun to create for them. It’s birthday season in my house, so I have to hit the pause button on my family room remodel I started a month ago to keep a promise. I’m creating a DIY sensory space for my youngest of six kids using a wasted space.
I’m sharing all the amazing details on my new site Livin’ Real with Larissa. Just tap/click the text link below or GIF works too.

What is more, I just got the heads-up that my new garage concrete is being prepped tomorrow. That means I had to hit the brakes hard to clean up and get ready.
Additionally, we saw this excavator digging up a tree in the field behind us.
hmm… wonder what’s going on?
Hopefully, just clearing that tree. In the meantime, we’re back to snowfall and trying to enjoy the time until we can get outside and prepping the property for some changes.
Also, we’re starting our sports season and continuing on homeschooling. Our plates our full and happy to say we can keep going on.
After this last adventure and knowing what’s coming, I could use a break of sorts. Does that ever happen to you?
A reset and change of pace can do the trick. Until then, I keep plodding on.

I love this space! How fun to be able to have a quiet space to restore! When I was growing up we had 2 walk-in closets that I loved. Mama created a playroom in 1. It was full of books, games, toys…..My brother and I spent hours in there! The other closet had a tall window and I could sit and read or just look out I had to walk through the hanging clothes to get to this space. Both closets were carpeted and they created great memories.
I love that you had that space to just be and do your thing. 😉 Thanks so much, Katie.
W.O.W., I want a space exactly like this! You had a brilliant idea and the work and decor are outstanding! Kudos Larissa👏👍💗
aww… how fun to hear, Sheryl! I’m over the moon happy for her and glad one more space in my new home is complete. Now I need a twin. haha. 😉
WOW!! WHAT A GREAT BIRTHDAY GIFT. SHE WILL CREATE A LOT OF GOOD MEMORIES IN THERE. ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR POSTS. I REALLY ENJOY THEM.
Thank you, Robin! She is in it all the time and I love that she seems at rest once in there for a bit. 🙂
