It’s truly a sad day when you actually have to throw something cherished away. This was one of my first every trashure finds on my very first city cleanup haul. You’re probably like…what is it?? ha! It was a broken down Conestoga wagon replica that has seen better days. I hated to say goodbye to this thing, but instead of goodbye it was time for new. Let me show you how I re-created this by building my own DIY crate wagon.
You should have seen JC’s face (aka. husband) when I brought this home over 4 years ago. He was of the mind I should have left it there. meh. It was still intact and chippy good with rusted bliss. How could I leave it there? I think he will never full understand me and that’s okay because that translates to MORE FOR ME!
Do you do a spring cleaning each year? For me, it seems like each month is spring with my family of 8 because I’m forever purging and cleaning. ha! Not complaining, just the truth. If I’m cleaning I know I have loved ones around me. Take for instance my workshop, full of goodies ready to become something new. These doors came off of a buffet that my son completed HERE (you seriously have to see it!). We promised to show you this repurposed cabinet door project. Oh, and we have a WINNER for the Zibra prize package!
Because these doors had cracks where the hinges were, they became unusable as they were originally intended. However, are they trash? NO WAY. Trashure I say! I recently gave my own kitchen cupboard doors new life by turning them into
You guys!! My family and I have been working so hard in our kitchen remodel while trying to keep up with life. (It happens, ya know.) I’m very excited to share with you the latest that we’ve been working on. For today’s post, I’ve had this project in my brain since FOREVER, and to see it finally come to fruition is wonderful. I’m going to show you how I took our boring builder grade kitchen drawers and turned them into faux crate drawers.
For those of you just joining in, I invite you to check out where we started from HERE, and then our last update HERE.
So…my email subscribers got to see this first, but here is how our ceiling looks now. *if you want to be in on the know, sign up for my newsletters either sign up in the sidebar on computer, or at the bottom of the page on mobile.
We love how much more bright and light our kitchen is without the faux beams we had originally. We’ve added recessed lighting to our kitchen, and new fixtures to our laundry, as well as updated our hot wiring mess.
Whomever wired this house is, well…scary! Our panel is a mish-mosh of connections that don’t make sense and my husband has spent his last four weekends in our attic roasting like a turkey fixing it all. That whole thing has eaten up our precious time, but we want to make it right. He even found a live wire just sitting up there – ask him how he knows. ahem.
While he’s doing that, I’ve been up to some repurposed fun. Enter in my kitchen drawers…
Pretty boring, but
